Stock Design and Machine Inc., founded in Virginia Beach in 2015 by Robert J. Stock, a former Navy SEAL and mechanical engineer, will expand operations for the second time. The company is certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business and possesses the API Spec Q1 Quality Control Specification.
Stock Design and Machine Inc. is a full-service computer numerical control (CNC) machine shop with some of the most accurate and fastest CNC tools available. The company serves a range of industries, which include aerospace, gas and oil, and automotive to produce turnkey manufacturing, machining, design, engineering services, light assembly and fabrication.
The original expansion accommodated work that was previously being outsourced overseas for General Plasma, which manufactures plasma coating lines for automobile plants around the world, and NCC Automation Systems, which builds conveyor systems for companies like Amazon Fulfillment Centers. The company is expanding again resulting from a new contract with Aquisense Technologies to manufacture its water purification containers. The company also has plans to prototype and produce the Squad Designated Marksman Assault Rifle (SDM-AR) weapon product line and specialty parts for Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Stock Design and Machine Inc. is located in the YesOceana corridor at 2500 Squadron Ct., units 106 and 107. The company will make a $970,000 capital investment to expand another 3,600 square feet to a total of 7,200 square feet, and the Virginia Beach Development Authority has awarded Stock Design and Machine Inc. an APZ-1 Economic Development Investment Program grant in the amount of $50,000 based on this investment.
“Stock Design and Machine, Inc. is creating jobs and products on American-made machines,” said Warren D. Harris, director of Virginia Beach Economic Development. “We congratulate them on their phenomenal growth and commitment to Virginia Beach.”
“Virginia Beach is the ideal location for our business,” said Robert J. Stock. “As a small business, we attribute much of our success to the support we’ve received from the city for financial assistance as well as resources to connect and improve workforce training programs for the advanced manufacturing community.”
